ICWA Golf Day 2016 Report
Kirby Muxloe Golf Club in Leicestershire hosted this annual industry event for the 13th year, and as always it was a great occasion and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The course was in wonderful condition and the hospitality provided by the club throughout the day, from breakfast to dinner to last orders (and beyond!) was first class.
The course recently hosted the national seniors open championship and consequently was still set up accordingly, therefore the narrow fairways, fast greens and unforgiving rough made for a very challenging test of golf.
The main prizes went to Jonathan Fraser of Miles-Platts who scored an excellent 32 points to win the Miles-Platts Trophy (0-18 handicap) and Roy Hirst of PAR who won the Rythergate Bowl in the 19-28 section. The longest drive saw a tremendous effort from Jason Thomson, nearest the pin prizes went to Ian Cowey, David Platts and Jonathan Fraser.
The after dinner quiz prize was shared between Trans-Tronic /PAR and the Amethyst/Transteel teams, with both groups declining a tie-break question and instead sharing the sponsored fund behind the bar. How civilised!
We now look forward to next year and doing it all again!
This event is open to all members and their customers, employees and guests for what is one of the last remaining industry related social occasions. Please contact the ICWA via the website, or myself for more information if you are interested in joining us next year.
